Gaillardia 'Amber Wheels'
BLANKET FLOWER
Gaillardia aristata 'Amber Wheels' is a beautiful newer perennial that features large, fringed, golden-yellow flowers with amber-red centers. A tall variety suited for the back of the flower bed as well as for fresh cut flower bouquets.
Gaillardia are hardy perennials that are drought tolerant once they are established. They endure heat better than many other plants so they are often used in the South, to Zone 10. Sometimes referred to as Blanket Flowers, they thrive best in well draining, poor soil. A native to North America, it gets its common name from the fact that it would 'blanket' the countryside prairies when in bloom. Generally considered deer-resistant.
MATURE HEIGHT: 28-32".
MATURE SPREAD: 24".
HARDINESS ZONES: 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
FLOWER: Early to late season.
SUN EXPOSURE: Full sun to mostly sunny.
SIZE SHIPPED: 2.5" pot.
