A BREAKTHROUGH IN GAILLARDIA COLOR!
Gaillardia aristata 'Oranges & Lemons' PP#17092 opens the door to new colors with Blanket Flowers. The petals are peachy colored with yellow tips. The blue-green foliage grows in an improved upright form. It has been described by leading perennial growers as "simply fantastic!".
Gaillardia are hardy perennials that are drought tolerant once they are established. They endure heat better than many other plants so they are often used in the South, to Zone 10. Sometimes referred to as Blanket Flowers, they thrive best in well draining, poor soil. A native to North America, it gets its common name from the fact that it would 'blanket'the countryside prairies when in bloom. Generally considered deer-resistant they make great cut flowers, both fresh and dried. Butterflies love them.
**This plant is so special that it is protected by a plant patent. Asexual reproduction is prohibited.**
All plants are dropping leaves as the season ends. Most plants are shipped without foliage.
