A RARE SHADE-LOVER!
Carex platyphylla is a slow spreading perennial with strap-like, very wide, glaucus, blue-green leaves. A native grass-like ground cover. While this plant is quite rare in its natural settings, the eastern half of the United States and Canada, our plants were produced in a greenhouse - no plants were taken from wild populations. Deer resistant. Broad-leaved Silver Sedge.
MATURE HEIGHT: 6-8".
MATURE SPREAD: 12-18".

FLOWER: Insignificant, early season.
SUN EXPOSURE: Part shade to shade.
