Heuchera 'Red Lightning'. This villosa hybrid has large, gold leaves with long-lasting dark red veins. 'Red Lightning' draws your attention from across the garden and works well in borders and mixed containers. PP#27767.
Differs from 'Delta Dawn' by its bigger leaf and more intense veining. Differs from Electra by its size. Differs from Renoir by its flower color.
This plant is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. The villosa species is a robust grower with an increased tolerance of high heat and humidity over other species. Most villosas produce flowers in midsummer, though they are usually grown more for their fantastic foliage. H. villosa is native to the southeastern United States. If you live in the south this plant is a great choice for your garden!
MATURE HEIGHT: Foliage 11". In bloom 18".
MATURE SPREAD: 16".
HARDINESS ZONES: 4,5,6,7,8,9.
