HOSTA OF THE YEAR 2014. 'Abiqua Drinking Gourd' is a very unique hosta. The thick, seer suckered blue leaves are deeply cupped. Award winning. Slug resistant. A classic that has stood the test of time and is still much in demand. No collection would be complete without this fun blue hosta. (Walden-West 1987)
Each year the American Hosta Growers Association selects 'the best of the best', and honors one variety as "Hosta of the Year". These special selections are acknowledged for being unique, easy to grow and loved by many. These plants are usually the cornerstones of most hosta collector's gardens making these selections a good choice for beginning collectors and gardeners alike.
DESIGNER HOSTA: This variety joins a select few other hostas in the exclusive "Designer" category. This plant has distinctive garden presence and exemplary landscape performance.
