Hosta 'Prairie Moon'
*** Prior experience with hostas is helpful with this size ***
Hosta 'Prairie Moon' emerges in the spring with bright yellow leaves backed by a lovely silver reverse. The intense color does not fade like it does for most other gold hostas. The thick, wedge-shaped leaves have good slug resistance and are topped by 2-inch lavender bell-shaped flowers in August. A hybrid of a streaked 'Elegans' x 'Fragrant Bouquet', the somewhat cupped and wavy foliage arches out to create a nice visual element for any shady area. Did we mention the colorful petioles?
