Heuchera 'Amber Waves'
It's back!
Heuchera 'Amber Waves' features warm amber-gold ruffled leaves. This alum root tolerates full sun and full shade but to keep its bright spring color place this little beauty in an area where it gets morning sun but is shaded from the strong afternoon sun. Intense, hot, mid-day sunlight will bleach the leaves to near white. The pinkish-peach flower buds open to cream flowers. Forms an attractive, neat mound. 'Amber Waves' is shorter than 'Caramel' & 'Christa' and it has more ruffles. An award winning coral bells from the Terra Nova collection. PP#13348.
This plant is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. The villosa species is a robust grower with an increased tolerance of high heat and humidity over other species. Most villosas produce flowers in midsummer, though they are usually grown more for their fantastic foliage. H. villosa is native to the southeastern United States. If you live in the south this plant is a great choice for your garden!
