Fall 2018 Plant Conditions:
BLEEDING HEART SELECTIONS... gone but not forgotten
This group of shade loving plants has graced gardens for generations. We offer the classic variety that may remind you of grandmother's garden as well as some of the newest specimens available today.
Bleeding Hearts are super companions to your other shade loving/tolerant plants like hostas, ferns, astilbe and brunnera. They grow best in moist, well draining soil. They do tolerate a little sun, and perhaps even benefit from it. Most varieties will grow just about anywhere in the continential US, having hardiness in USDA Zones 3-9. Dicentra attract hummingbirds. Deer generally do not find them tasty. They are native perennials that are full of charm, grace and beauty.
Due to a recent frost most plants are shipped partially to fully trimmed.
(but Heuchera still look really good!)
All plants are going dormant.
