Heuchera 'Midnight Ruffles'
LARGE SHINY WAVY LEAVES
Heuchera 'Midnight Ruffles'. These new ruffles have H. villosa breeding giving them a larger leaf and plant size, better heat and humidity tolerance, as well as good cold tolerance. They are vigorous growers. 'Midnight Ruffles' has large, very ruffled, red brown to almost black leaves. The shiny foliage with its crisply ruffled leaves showing purple backs is delightful to view. An improved 'Chocolate Ruffles' with its darker color, larger leaves, deeper villosa genes and sharp ruffles. PPAF.
This plant is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. The villosa species is a robust grower with an increased tolerance of high heat and humidity over other species. Most villosas produce flowers in midsummer, though they are usually grown more for their fantastic foliage. H. villosa is native to the southeastern United States. If you live in the south this plant is a great choice for your garden!
