Fern 'Lady in Red'
Athyrium felix-forma 'Lady in Red'. Very attractive maroon-red stems. A stunning foliage plant that is well behaved and stays clumped. Snip a few fronds and add them to fresh flower bouquets for a wonderful effect. We have found this fern to be easy to grow, coming back each year in the garden. The reddish stems seem to get more colorful each year. This native plant is usually ignored by rabbits.

Perennial ferns (they come back every year) are plants that thrive best in moist, partly shady conditions. They will also grow nicely in full shade. Ferns prefer well-draining soil. Once established ferns are extremely hardy. Plants allowed to dry out completely will go dormant, reappearing the following spring. All of our varieties are rabbit resistant. Most of our varieties are non-invasive specimen plants. Fern fronds make lovely additions to fresh-cut flower bouquets. Ferns also make friendly companions to hostas, heuchera, tricyrtis and other shade-tolerant plants. Our special ferns may need another year or so to develop their full color, size, texture and shape. Fully mature ferns are truly spectacular!
