Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam'. A classic perennial, 'Moonbeam' is an excellent performer with bright lemon-yellow flowers produced in profusion from early through late summer. The airy clumps of fine, needle-like foliage on upright stems add a nice fine texture element to the landscape. Coreopsis is one of the easiest perennials to maintain and is a good choice for beginners. It compliments nearly every other plant in the garden. The verticillata species is particularly long-lived, has a longer flowering time, and demonstrates better drought tolerance than others in the genus.

Coreopsis are easy-to-grow perennials (it comes back every year). Also known as Tickseed, they are rarely bothered by insects or disease. They are deer resistant. Tickseeds tolerate the hot summer sun, poor soil and short periods of dryness. A native to North America that has been recently bred into a number of colors. The flowers are great additions to fresh cut bouquets. A great plant for beginners and a standard of all butterfly gardens.
